Agribusiness Innovation Challenge: Empowering Women and Youth-led Startups in Kaduna (5 Million Naira)

The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) has partnered with CoLab to empower women and youth-led startups through an innovation challenge aimed at improving the agriculture sector of the economy through technology and innovation.

GAIN, whose mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving the consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition, will over the next couple of months, work with CoLab to implement an Agribusiness Innovation Challenge and provide technical assistance training to women and youth-led start-ups to strengthen their capacity, improve their access to financial services, pitch to potential investors and develop their business concepts leveraging innovation to improve the supply chain efficiency in Kaduna.

Applicants will also be selected based on their pitch decks. The pitch decks should include the name of your business, your unique value proposition, target markets, business surveys, business registration details, evidence of traction, problem statements, and your solution.

Eligibility:

  • Interested applicants should own startups that are led by women or youths not more than 35 years of age.
  • The submissions for the challenge should be centered around agriculture innovation in Kaduna State and should have a good profitable value by today’s business standards. This includes innovation around production, processing, distribution, payments, transportation, storage, and marketing in the agriculture sector in Kaduna.

Benefits:

This programme will run for 6 months and startups have the opportunity to win N5million in cash.

How to apply:

Applicants will be selected based on how relevant their startup is to the improvement of the supply chain in Kaduna and their pitch decks. The pitch decks should include the name of your business, your unique value proposition, target markets, business surveys, business registration details, evidence of traction, problem statements and solution.

Applications will run from the 9th of September 2022 till the 3rd of October 2022.
