The College has set aside limited funds to assist EU and international students in financial difficulty.
International Hardship Fund (IHF) is a limited fund set aside by the College to assist International and EU students who are experiencing financial difficulties, despite having arranged adequate funding for their studies.
King’s recognises that students studying and living in London can face wide a range of financial pressures and concerns.
Our hardship funds are here to help eligible students who need extra financial support to continue their course at King’s. Hardship funding is available throughout the academic year whilst funds permit.
For international students, the UKVI has indicated that students will need about £1,265 for their living costs for each month of their programme of study, plus the costs of tuition fees. The above amount is solely an indication, as living costs will vary depending on individual circumstances. The unforeseen change in circumstances must have impacted your ability to access these funds.
IHF is open throughout the year whilst funds permit.
Scholarship/Award:
Awards will vary in size depending on the student’s need.
Eligibility:
The applicant must be able to demonstrate that unforeseen financial difficulties have occurred after you started your course with adequate funds arranged to cover tuition fees and living costs for the entire duration of the course.
How to apply:
On the first page of the King’s Student Records, find the ‘My Fund Application’ box and select ‘click here to view your funding options’.
Please ensure that you read the guidance notes carefully before completing the application form.
Students are asked to provide detailed information and supporting documents to show and evidence the following:
- Details of the financial provision made prior to the start of their studies
- Details of the change in circumstances, and how this has affected their ability to fund their studies
- Details of their financial need, and what they will require financial assistance for (e.g. tuition fees, living costs etc)
Once the application has been submitted you will receive an acknowledgement email with further information about the application process and the evidence required to support your case.
Please provide all supporting documentation to evidence the financial provision and change in circumstances as declared in the supporting statement as soon as possible.
All supporting documents must be legible:
