Shell Ideas360 is more than a global competition that connects students to develop ideas to tackle the pressures on the world’s Food, Water and Energy resources. It’s an exciting journey of learning and discovery. Collaborate with like-minded innovators, Shell experts and mentors to expand your horizons.
Prizes /Benefits
Stage 1
- Each member of a team that submits an idea receives a 3-month subscription to WIRED’s interactive digital edition (accessible on iPad, iPhone, and Kindle Fire) and a certificate of participation.
Stage 2
- Each member of a team that submits an idea receives a certificate of participation.
Stage 3
- Each member of the finalist teams will fly to Make The Future, London and receive a personalized medal and certificate of completion.
Winners :
The team will receive the Shell Ideas360 trophy and each member of the team wins an Adventure.
The stages
Stage 1: Formulate
Register online – Join the Learning sessions – Submit an Idea.
Get inspired and submit an idea.
Register and set up your personal profile. You can enter as an individual or as part of a team of up to three people.
You join learning sessions, use the online community to discuss and to shape your idea before submission.
Stage 2: Develop
Selected ideas will have access to:
- A designated mentor
- Expert Development Sessions – support to further develop your idea, Leadership & business skills training to enhance your career
Connect with experts
Connect with your Shell mentor and join the Development Sessions to enhance business skills
Stage 3: Pitch
Finalist teams receive:
- A trip to Make The Future, London
- Intensive coaching
- Opportunity to pitch ideas to senior Shell executives, Innovators and Industry leaders.
Refine your skills
Make your idea pitch perfect with coaching, insight and support from senior Shell experts and mentors. Gain VIP access to Make The Future, London.

15/09/2017: Stage 1 Open

19/01/2018: Stage 1 Submission deadline
- Ideas should be submitted online by 23:59 GMT on January 19, 2018
20/02/2018: Stage 1 Results
- Successful teams will be announced w/c February 20, 2018 to progress to Stage 2.
21/02/2018: Stage 2 Open
- Stage 2 teams connect with their Shell Mentor, access expert
- Learning Sessions and exclusive Masterclasses to further develop their idea.
20/04/2018: Stage 2 Submission deadline
- All ideas should be submitted online by 23:59 GMT on April 20, 2018.
07/05/2018: Stage 2 Results
- Five successful teams will be announced on w/c May 7, 2018 to progress to Stage 3.
22/06/2018: Stage 3 Open
Stage 3 teams prepare final pitch to the panel of judges at Make The Future, Live in London
04/07/2018: The Pitch
- All finalists come together to prepare their final presentation and to pitch their idea.
05/07/2018: Shell Ideas360 Awards
Shell Ideas 2017/2018 winning idea will be announced at Make The Future, Live in London
