The North American Association for Environmental Education (NAAEE) calls for applications. Young people around the world are creating lasting change for both people and the planet. EE 30 Under 30 shines the spotlight on these changemakers who demonstrate passion, commitment, and leadership using environmental education. The EE 30 Under 30 Class of 2023 will receive global recognition, join a growing community of inspiring EE leaders, and have access to ongoing opportunities for professional development and networking.

Environmental education (EE) and leadership shows up in many different forms! They aim to recognize leaders with a wide range of backgrounds, who reach various audiences and bring a diversity of perspectives to EE.   • Must be 30 years old or younger on December 31, 2023

  • Must use environmental education in their work.

  • Must demonstrate leadership through their work.

  • Must be able to complete the application in English.

  • Nominees must be using EE to address sustainability issues, build a more inclusive environmental movement, and/or create healthier and more civically-engaged communities.

  • Nominees must demonstrate some leadership in EE, but you do not need to be in a leadership position to demonstrate leadership! This can include (but is not limited to!) inspiring others to take action towards a shared vision, listening to and taking action for the needs of your community, innovating in the face of challenges, creating inclusive environments for participation and engagement, and much more.

The Watson Institute is launching a fully-funded Venture Accelerator program for next-generation entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and experience to scale the impactful ventures they are building. Fellows will learn advanced skills in entrepreneurship and leadership, have the opportunity to earn seed funding, garner experience, and build a global network, as they lay the foundation to empower many more individuals and transform their communities.

This program is offered with virtual and in-person components that allows fellows to take advantage of the global cohort while also focusing on creating local impact within their communities. Virtual Programming includes: Impact Speaker Series, Workshops, and Weekly Check Ins. In-Person Programming includes in person Immersive in Boulder, CO. Up to $6,000 available in seed funding for select Fellows, based on comprehensive performance in the program, progress and impact throughout the Accelerator.

This is a 16-week program with weekly programming from July 20th – October 31st. The program launches with an in-person Immersive in Boulder, Colorado. The Immersive will take place from July 20th – July 28th. During the remaining 14 weeks, the weekly time commitment is approximately 6–8 hours per week.

Eligibility:

  • Entrepreneur leading an early-stage social impact venture with demonstrated impact metrics and traction.

  • Able to commit to the 16-week program including the in-person Immersive in Boulder, Colorado with a weekly time commitment of 6–8 hours per week.

  • From any geographical location with a preference to applicants from the USA, Brazil, China, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

Benefits:

Participate in the Fellowships culminating event called Summit where Fellows pitch to local leaders, funders, and entrepreneurs. Fellows can earn up to $6,000 in seed funding for their venture.

Each year the International Bar Association (IBA), the world’s largest international organisation of law societies, bar associations and individual lawyers engaged in transnational law, holds an Annual Conference, which attracts the participation of some 6000 lawyers from more than 100 jurisdictions. The IBA’s Legal Practice Division (LPD), Section of Public and Professional Interest Division (SPPI) present informative and engaging sessions covering current topics of significance to lawyers throughout the world.

Eligibility:

  • Young Lawyer’ is defined as any lawyer up to and including the age of 35 at the time of the Conference.

Applicants must either be:

  • a fully qualified lawyer who is licensed/registered to practice as a lawyer with the relevant professional regulatory body;

    or

  • undertaking the qualification process (education and/or vocational) to pass the bar (or the equivalent qualification in the relevant jurisdiction) to become fully qualified, providing they hold a temporary or permanent licence to practice as a trainee, or are undertaking a training scheme that is recognised by the professional regulatory body.

  • IBA membership is not a requirement to submit application

  • Employees of the IBA, officers of any IBA entity and relatives of the above are excluded from the competition.

  • Previous winners of any LPD/SPPI Conference Scholarships are also excluded from the competition. All other applicants from previous years may reapply.

  • Each participant may apply for one Scholarship in a calendar year.

REN21 is the only global renewable energy community of actors from science, governments, NGOs and industry. They provide up-to-date and peer-reviewed facts, figures and analysis of global developments in technology, policies and markets.

The OECD’s Youth Advisory Board is made up of brilliant young people aged 18‒30 from OECD countries. Youthwise was launched in 2021 to bring youth perspectives and ideas to the OECD, and improve youth understanding of the Organisation’s work and international policy making.

So far, 2022 has seen Youthwise members speak at the Ministerial Council Meeting, marking the first time young people have been formally invited to the OECD’s highest-level meeting.

Terms of appointment:

  • The standard term of appointment will be from April 2023 until March 2024.
  • Youthwise activities will principally take place online, though member(s) may be invited to in-person events, for which travel costs will be covered. A high level of attendance and participation is expected from all members; in the instance of unavailability, members are expected to notify the team in advance.
  • Youthwise members will not be remunerated for their participation.

Roles:

As part of Youthwise, members:

  • bring their generation’s perspectives, insights, and ideas to the OECD.
  • gain a greater understanding of key policy issues that affect their generation.
  • take part in closed-door meetings and consultations, engaging on a range of topics, themes, with OECD experts and external stakeholders.
  • have the opportunity to speak at events and participate in webinars on behalf of Youthwise.
  • be able to speak on panels and participate in webinars, providing interventions on behalf of Youthwise.
  • create and (co-)author documents, articles, and videos to share Youthwise views.
  • join interactive workshops with other youth organisations such as the Y20, meeting youth leaders from around the world.
  • network and gain a better understanding of how international policy-making functions.

Eligibility:

Applicants must be:

  • between 18 and 30 years of age as of 15 March 2023
  • a national of an OECD member country (more detail in the brochure)
  • fluent in English (more detail in the brochure)
  • highly interested in national and international debates on building an inclusive future through the green and digital transitions
  • able to be diplomatic, understanding and open to different ideas and perspectives when discussing potentially divisive topics
  • able to dedicate up to 8 hours per month to Youthwise-related activities (including preparatory reading, group work, meetings, speaking at events, etc.)
  • commited to participate fully in the programme from March 2023 until March 2024

Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) Summer Internship 2023 is a 10-week internship program in the United States that is fully supported (USA). This summer internship is accessible to all foreign students from across the world. Students of any nationality are encouraged to apply. LPI Internships pay all expenditures, including flying tickets, meals, lodging, visas, monthly scholarships, and so on. There is no registration charge. These internships do not require any English proficiency examinations. You can apply for an LPI Internship without having to take the IELTS or GRE. LPI is one of the best internships for getting a taste of a new working environment. Participants who have been chosen will be contacted in March 2023.

Participants majoring in physics or science, engineering, computer science, or mathematics will be given priority, although all qualifying students will be evaluated. In other words, the fields listed above are recommended but not needed. As a result, if your educational background is different, please apply.
