The Watson Semester Accelerator (Hybrid Format) is a program for college students, recent graduates, and gap-year students with an early-stage venture/project and a passion for impact.

During the 4-month program, a cohort of next generation innovators, leaders, and entrepreneurs from across the globe convene in-person and virtually to tackle complex problems and forge lives and careers of impact.

From climate change to social justice and from poverty to access to quality education, students selected to the hybrid Watson Semester Accelerator leverage training, mentorship, and community to accelerate their ventures and unleash a lifetime of impact.

The hybrid Watson Accelerator (Fall and Spring) is a program for college students, recent graduates, and gap-year students with a bias towards action through entrepreneurship.

The hybrid program brings the Watson Semester Accelerator to Scholars across the globe, take advantage of opportunities only available in the virtual space, as well as provide the in-person experience for U.S. based scholars that will benefit from the connections found in the vibrant entrepreneurial community in Boulder, Colorado.

The courses, mentorship, master courses, and community will be delivered in a combination of in-person and virtual formats. Synchronous activities will take place between 9:00 AM-12:00 PM Mountain Time. The time commitment for participating in this program is an average of 42 hours per week for 16 weeks, which includes class time, workshops, Master Courses, and outside of class work on your ventures and projects.

Watson Institute’s training develops the hard and soft skills necessary to forge a successful career and impactful life including transformative communication, leadership, fundraising, finance, grit, empathy, and resilience.Whether at the idea-stage or prototyping-stage, the program is made for students who are looking to solve the world’s greatest challenges through the crossroads between entrepreneurship and impact.

Students in this program are driven to action by a passion to make a difference while designing, validating, and launching impact focused ventures.

The program is for:

  • This program is for early stage entrepreneurs, innovators, and leaders with a bias towards action and the gritty idealism required to solve complex problems.
  • Founders in the early-prototyping stage are the most well-suited for the Watson Semester Accelerator in the Fall and Spring. Early prototyping means that you have completed initial research on the project and have designed and put to test aspects of your business model. In addition, at this stage you have developed early versions of the service or product that you are planning to launch. You may have revenue or funding streams at this stage, but the project/venture is not yet self-sustained or scalable.
