India Smart Cities Internship/Fellowship Programme 2018 For Young Indian Graduates/post Graduates

India Smart Cities Internship/Fellowship Programme 2018 For Young Indian Graduates/post Graduates

Deadline: 31st August 2018

The India Smart Cities Fellowship (ISCF) program seeks to engage young graduates/post graduates and PhDs in various fields for providing the necessary support to Mission Director, Smart Cities in MoHUA and/or CEOs of selected Smart Cities in terms of analytics, research, documentation, independent assessment, visualisation or any other related activities including preparation of reports, posters, dossiers, etc. At the end of the every year of fellowship, the fellows will be invited by the Ministry to share their experiences and learning in an appropriate national forum.

The urban population of India as per 2011 census was around 400 million. This is projected to grow to 600 million by 2030, comprising 40 percent of the country’s population contributing around 75 percent of India’s GDP. With increasing urbanization, a big challenge being faced by cities is to provide basic services (e.g. water supply, sewerage, urban transport) to households and build amenities in cities which will improve the quality of life for all, especially the poor and the disadvantaged. Hence well-planned urbanization could be the single largest positive determinant of our country’s development in the future.

Development of Smart Cities is a step in this direction to create an urban eco-system, which is represented by the four pillars of comprehensive development of institutional, physical, social and economic infrastructure to improve ease of living and attracting people and investments to the city. This fellowship provides you a chance to be part of this journey and opportunity to create solutions for India’s urban needs.
