Deadline: September 20, 2019
The “Let’s Talk!” campaign is a multinational response to the crisis of early and unintended pregnancy (EUP) across 21 countries in the Eastern and Southern Africa (ESA) region that was recently launched on the 31st of July in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Campaign was commissioned by the Technical Coordinating Group of the ESA Ministerial Commitment 1 through the core partner organisations of UNESCO, UNFPA, SCS and SAfAIDS. The joint effort recognized the damage EUP brings to adolescents, their families and communities throughout the ESA region, and to the economic and social development of their nations.
We want YOU to join us in the implementation of the campaign within your communities, by coming up with your own dissemination and implementation plans! We want you to think outside the box.
With a topic so heavy and oftentimes difficult to even start, what can you do to get conversations going? What would it take for you to change the current situation in your country, or in your communities? Is it advocating for a policy change? Is it demanding better access to Sexual Reproductive Health Services? Or would it take changing mindsets? Driving conversations? It can be as big as your imagination can take you, or as small but just as impactful. You(th) decide.
Potential ideas:
Online:
- Launch a widespread social media campaign for youth. Get youth within your communities to upload photos on social media with materials and encourage people to “Let’s Talk”.
