2019 Techpoint Build $10,000 Prize for Early-stage startup in West Africa

Deadline: October 31st, 2018 12AM (WAT)

Earlier this year, we hosted the maiden edition of Techpoint Build. One of the core segments of the event was Pitch Storm, where nine of the finest startups from Nigeria competed for the opportunity to pitch to investors. In the end, Placements.ng emerged the top startup , walking away with the grand prize of ₦1 million.

In the next edition of Techpoint Build, we are switching things up a bit. Pitch Storm remains a pitch competition for early-stage startups that use technology to solve basic problems but this time, we are taking it beyond Nigeria and focusing on West Africa. We are also increasing the grand prize money to $10,000 .

Participating startups will be eliminated down to 12 finalists. While there will be only one winner, other finalists also get to pitch to a room full of potential local investors and foreign investors in a closed Deal Room.

Pitch Storm will take place during Techpoint Build West Africa, which will hold on the
26th of January, 2019 at The Landmark Event Centre.

How do I participate?

Interested startups must fit into one of these categories:

  • Fintech and Payments

Note:

Qualifying startups must be early-stage companies and should have a fully working product, reasonably close to or in production. If your startup meets the above criteria, you can apply to pitch now.
